AYour Committee on Deceased Ministers report that one of our ordained
ministers has been called from the embrace and relationship of those
who loved him; from our ministerial brotherhood, and from his labors
and toils here below to mingle with kindred saints in the haven of
eternal repose, since we last met together (September 7, 9, and 10,
1878), to wit: Elder J. G. Williams of New Providence Church.
Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord, from henceforth they rest
from their labors and their works do follow them.
Resolved, That in his death the church has lost a worthy brother, his
family an affectionate husband and father, that we sympathize with his
family in their loss, and would direct them to the Father and Light,
who is a husband to the widow and a father to the orphan; that we send
a copy of the minutes containing these resolutions to sister Williams.
All of which is submitted.
