FANNIE ALETHA BROWN GIEGER
Fannie Aletha Brown, fifth child and fourth daughter of Joseph and Nancy
(Bullard) Brown, was born in Hamilton, Texas, on January 6, 1913. After
graduation from Ft. Worth's Polytechnic High School in 1930, she went
to work as a beautician. When she was young, she was an accomplished
golfer, but gave up the game because her husband was not interested in
it. Fannie, a tall, beautiful red-haired lady with green eyes, was
married on November 28, 1934.Two sons and one daughter were born of
this union. Her homemaking skills were extensive, and she was an
excellent seamstress, who could cut clothes patterns from newspaper by
memory and sketches. She also was an accomplished cook and her pastries
and jellies were superb. She was a charter member of Grace Temple
church in Ft. Worth and benevolent to a large number of Christian
missionary organizations. After her husband's retirement in 1971, they
moved and lived in Talco, Texas, until his death in 1984. Fannie died
on December 27, 1989, during surgery to repair a hip that was broken by
a fall on Christmas Day. She was buried in Laurel Land Cemetery in Ft.
Worth, between her husband and infant daughter, Marcia.
