Mrs. Carver, a widow lady, living near 
Coryell city, in attempting to extinguish
the flames which enveloped her daughter's
clothing, was burned to death.  The daugh-
ter also died at the same time.  "Non-ex-
plosive" oil did it.

  Sabert Oglesby, a hero of the war of
1812, died in Coryell county the other
day.  He was engaged in the battle of
New Orleans, and lived to the good
old age of one Hundred and one years
and three months.  He enjoyed a pen-
sion from the United States Govern-
ment.

a boiler exploded in a mill at Tur-
nerville, Coryell county, killing Mr.
Higginbothem and one of his em-
ployees.
